Driver Arrested for Operating Truck While Disqualified and Under House Arrest

The story · English

Jerusalem traffic police arrested a 24-year-old man yesterday on suspicion of driving a truck without a proper license, while disqualified from driving, and in violation of house arrest conditions. The suspect, a resident of Jabal Mukaber, was apprehended by officers from the Central Unit of the Jerusalem District Traffic Division.

According to police, the man was already disqualified from driving and under house arrest at the time of his latest offense. This is not the first time he has been caught; approximately a year ago, he was previously apprehended for a similar offense, which led to his driving disqualification and house arrest order.

Coincidentally, a court hearing was scheduled for the suspect yesterday to discuss his case, with his lawyer representing him. While the hearing was in progress, police claim they observed the same individual driving a different truck, despite lacking the appropriate license. Police emphasized that this driving occurred during his active disqualification and breach of house arrest terms.

The suspect was arrested and taken for questioning, after which he was detained. This morning, following the completion of his interrogation, the Jerusalem Traffic Prosecution Unit filed an indictment against him. Alongside the indictment, a request was submitted to the court to detain the suspect until the legal proceedings against him are concluded.
