Henti Accuses Opponent of Racist Chants During Soccer Match
A scoreless draw between Hapoel Rishon LeZion and Bnei Yehuda in the National League on Monday has been overshadowed by accusations of racist behavior. Following the match, Hapoel Rishon LeZion player Ezekiel Henti posted on Instagram alleging that Bnei Yehuda player Matan Levi directed monkey chants at him.
Henti stated that Levi's alleged racist calls were made very close to the referee, who denied hearing them. "It's a shame this is allowed without punishment, and we talk against racism in football," Henti wrote. He contrasted this with insults from opposing fans, which he considers part of the game, emphasizing that chants from another player are "completely unacceptable."
Concluding his post, Henti expressed hope that the Israel Football Association would take action to send a strong message that racism has no place in football. Both teams now share the league lead with 10 points each after four rounds.
