Israeli Electric Scooter Brand INOKIM Earns Official Standards Mark
Israeli electric scooter brand INOKIM has announced it has received an official standards mark from the Standards Institution of Israel, following a two-year approval process. The company claims this makes it the first electric scooter brand globally to achieve such an accreditation.
The rigorous process involved product testing, factory inspections, and oversight of the entire manufacturing process, from battery production to final assembly. INOKIM stated that this certification validates their commitment to quality and safety.
Dr. Gilad Golov, CEO of the Standards Institution, confirmed that INOKIM successfully met the required testing standards and commended manufacturers who choose to operate under full regulatory supervision. The company was founded by brothers Kfir and Dror Ben Shushan.
INOKIM reports a global user base exceeding half a million riders, with approximately 100,000 customers in Israel. This development occurs amidst a significant rise in injuries related to electric scooter use in Israel. Official statistics indicate that 1,465 individuals were injured in electric scooter accidents in 2024, and the number of fatalities and serious injuries among scooter riders has climbed dramatically from just 4 in 2015 to 356 in 2024, according to the National Road Safety Authority.
