Netanya Coach Hopes Transfer Window Business Concludes Soon

Maccabi Netanya and Hapoel Haifa played to a 1-1 draw on Monday, a result that did little to clarify their early season ambitions. Both teams were predicted to contend for a top playoff spot, but the draw leaves Netanya with two ties this season after a previous win, while Haifa remains undefeated but without a victory.

Netanya coach Roni Levy acknowledged his team's struggles, stating, "At home we always want to win. We encountered a strong opponent that made life difficult for us. We fell behind, but managed to come back. We could have won, but we also could have lost; it was a game between two equal rivals." He added that the team's first-half approach was "lethargic," with a lack of concentration and organization after losing possession, though the second half saw improvement.

Levy also commented on the team's offensive capabilities, noting, "We are missing a player who can make the decisive play. Perhaps we need to be more intense, but last year's Netanya would have conceded another goal or two in this situation." He expressed satisfaction with the team's ability to handle dangerous transitional play.

Regarding the transfer window, Levy stated that Netanya's strategy was to strengthen the squad but they had not yet acquired their desired players. "We have players lined up, and I hope things will be finalized in the coming days," he said, expressing optimism about concluding transfer business soon.
