Yair Golan Leads 'Democrats' Party List for Upcoming Knesset Election

The "Democrats" party, headed by former IDF General Yair Golan, officially submitted its list of candidates for the 26th Knesset to the Central Elections Committee on Wednesday. The submission was made by party officials including MK Efrat Reiten, MK Naama Lazimi, MK Gilad Kariv, party CEO Omer Lubaton Grannot, and legal advisor Omri Segev.

Yair Golan tops the list, followed by MK Naama Lazimi, MK Gilad Kariv, and MK Efrat Reiten. The party stated that the list was determined through primary elections involving party members.

Notable public figures were placed in symbolic positions on the list. Among them is Yocheved Lifshitz, who was abducted from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7th and subsequently released from Hamas captivity in Gaza. Her husband, Oded Lifshitz, was murdered. Lifshitz, placed at number 99, stated, "I see a direct and clear line between October 7th and October 27th, between the abandonment and the fateful elections before us and the battle for democracy and our liberal values." Former Minister Uzi Baram is listed at the final position, number 120.

MK Naama Lazimi commented on the submission, describing the list as "magnificent and diverse" and asserting, "Only with us is there 100% certainty that there will be no defectors."
