Padlon Group Wins $110 Million in Israeli Hospital Infrastructure Projects
The Padlon Group has secured two significant contracts from the Israeli Ministry of Health, totaling approximately 400 million shekels (about $110 million USD), for the construction and expansion of medical infrastructure at two major hospitals: Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh) and Sheba Medical Center, Tel HaShomer. These projects will be carried out while maintaining the full, continuous operation of the medical departments within the hospitals.
At Shamir Medical Center, Padlon will construct the first phase of a new emergency medicine center. This facility will be fully fortified against missile attacks, a requirement that has gained prominence due to recent prolonged conflicts. Construction is slated to begin in about a month and will involve demolishing existing structures, relocating systems, excavation, shoring, infrastructure work, and laying subflooring. Concurrently, the company is building a new forensic medicine institute at the same campus.
At Sheba Medical Center, the group will undertake Phase C of a project involving the administration building, the neonatal intensive care unit, and an emergency parking facility, at a cost of around 200 million shekels. This phase includes completing the structural framework, exterior, systems, and finishing work. It follows the initial two phases, which Padlon is currently constructing for approximately 100 million shekels. The entire project, including a planned future Phase D, is valued at approximately 400 million shekels.
Padlon Group, holding an unlimited contractor classification, is recognized as one of the few Israeli companies with experience in complex engineering work within active medical facilities. Such projects demand meticulous attention to ensure the uninterrupted operation of critical life-saving systems, including operating rooms, MRI machines, X-ray rooms, and 24/7 laboratories.
Herzl Padlon, the group's president who founded it in the 1970s, stated that the contract wins represent a significant achievement reflecting the team's professional capabilities and commitment. He highlighted the company's two decades of experience in medical institutions, emphasizing the need to maintain essential systems like air conditioning, water, and heating without disruption to ensure continuous departmental and laboratory operations.
