Belz Hassidic Dynasty Appoints New Knesset Representative

In a significant shift within the Belz Hassidic community, Rabbi Elyakim Stark will replace Deputy Minister Israel Eichler as the movement's representative in the Knesset. Eichler, who has served intermittently in the Knesset since 2003, will transition to the role of chairman of the "Machzikei Hadat" movement, continuing to lead its direction. Stark, described as a prominent, energetic, and well-regarded young leader within the Hassidic community, is expected to be integrated into the "United Torah Judaism" list for the 26th Knesset.

The announcement, jointly formulated by Eichler and Stark themselves, emphasizes that both men will continue to work in full and coordinated cooperation. Stark's rise within the community is notable, particularly his close relationship with the Rebbe's son, Rabbi Aharon Mordechai Rokeach. Stark currently chairs the Hassidic community's workers' council and gained considerable political experience managing the movement's political apparatus during the recent local elections.
