Samaria Attack Victim Recounts Fierce Struggle with Terrorist
Netanel Yaakovs, who was wounded in a stabbing attack in Samaria, described his intense fight with the terrorist who attacked him, even after the knife's blade broke. Speaking from his hospital bed at Beilinson Hospital, Yaakovs recounted how he punched, pushed, and grappled with the assailant, falling to the ground with him. He attempted to grab a stone to throw at the attacker's head.
Yaakovs explained that the struggle continued even after the knife broke, with the terrorist attempting to stab him with the remaining blade. "I choked him, and then he managed to escape, running towards his car," Yaakovs said. Despite his own injuries, Yaakovs pursued the attacker with a stone until he realized he was bleeding heavily from stab wounds to his head, neck, and hand.
His parents, Avdiel and Penina, stated that Netanel's condition is good and stable, expressing gratitude for his survival. They called on the IDF and state leadership to take strong action against terrorism, emphasizing that the situation where Jews are targeted for murder in Israel is unacceptable. They urged for decisive measures, including destroying houses and confiscating weapons in villages from which terrorists emerge, rather than relying on routine operations.
The parents also highlighted the importance of outposts controlling open areas, suggesting they help deter terrorists from approaching settlements. They believe that such actions are crucial to prevent future attacks and ensure the safety of Israeli citizens.
