Israeli Defender Roy Revivo May Debut for Elche Against Real Sociedad

Israeli defender Roy Revivo is poised to potentially make his debut for Spanish club Elche on Monday evening against Real Sociedad. Revivo, who joined Elche from Maccabi Tel Aviv just last week, has been included in the squad for the match where the team will aim to secure its first points of the season.

Elche currently lacks a natural left-back, with Herman Valera often filling the role. However, an injury to Yago Santiago, who typically plays as a left winger, might see Valera return to his preferred position. Elche's coach, Manuel Albesmi, indicated that the team would assess which of the new signings are ready to play.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Elche is expected to deploy a 3-4-3 formation. Valera is anticipated to play as a left winger, covering the entire flank, while Revivo, wearing number 3, may start on the bench. The report also highlighted Elche's defensive struggles, noting they have the worst defense in the Spanish league.

Albesmi emphasized the need for collective defense, suggesting that Revivo, who is considered more defensively solid, might be chosen to minimize risks and help Elche earn their first point of the 2026/27 season.
