Local Council Head Withdraws Candidacy for Second Spot on Front List

Samir Abu Zeid, head of the Eilabun Local Council, announced on Monday his withdrawal from the race for the second position on the Front party's list. Abu Zeid stated that his decision was prompted by the return of fellow member Jaafar Farah to the candidacy, which was the initial reason he put his name forward. In a statement to Front party members, Abu Zeid explained that his candidacy stemmed from a sense of responsibility and a desire to help the party overcome challenges and maintain its unity and strength, rather than a personal pursuit of office.

Abu Zeid clarified that his stance was clear from the outset and that Farah's decision to continue his candidacy was his alone. He added that with Farah's decision to remain in the electoral race, the original motivation for his own candidacy no longer existed. Abu Zeid also highlighted his existing commitments to his hometown and the local Front branch in Eilabun, emphasizing his concern to avoid any negative impact on them due to his continued candidacy.

Concluding his statement, Abu Zeid wished Farah and the Front party success, reaffirming his commitment to supporting the party's political agenda and upholding unity and joint action. He stressed that he would continue to serve his town, his comrades, and his community, regardless of his official position.
