Jared Kushner Links Israeli Elections to 'Irrational' Gaza Policy

Former White House advisor Jared Kushner stated that upcoming Israeli elections are making the current government's approach to Gaza "a bit irrational." Speaking at a press conference in Kyiv, Kushner addressed the tensions in Gaza and efforts to disarm Hamas. He suggested that the elections, scheduled for the end of next month, are influencing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government's actions regarding Gaza.

"I think we agree with the Israelis on the end state in Gaza," Kushner said, adding that a plan exists to move forward. He emphasized that advancing into Gaza would be difficult while Hamas possesses weapons. "You can't just send the government into a place like that," he explained.

Kushner also acknowledged that the extent of Gaza's armament is significant and poses challenges for disarmament. "We are just now beginning to understand the scope of armaments in Gaza. It is beyond your ability to understand, and therefore its disarmament will not be easy," he noted.

Despite these challenges, Kushner expressed determination to address the issues. "We are dealing with some political issues in Israel. They just have crazy elections now, and that makes them a bit irrational in certain aspects. But we are very determined, and we are working to deal with these things," he concluded.
