Netanyahu's Offer to Prominent Mayor Rubik Danilovich Rejected

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attempted to recruit Beersheba Mayor Rubik Danilovich to the Likud party, offering him a significant political position. According to Channel 12 News, the offer included the third spot on the Likud's electoral list, along with the roles of senior minister and deputy prime minister. This is not the first time Netanyahu has tried to bring Danilovich into his party; previous attempts were rejected by the mayor.

However, unlike in past elections, Danilovich did not immediately dismiss the offer this time and agreed to consider it, although reports indicated he was initially inclined to refuse. Netanyahu's associates reportedly asked him not to rush his decision and to wait an additional night. After deliberation, Danilovich informed them of his decision not to accept the offer.

Even when asked to take several more days to consider, Danilovich ultimately decided to definitively reject the proposal. Netanyahu's effort to recruit Danilovich is part of a series of reported attempts by the Prime Minister to secure prominent figures for his party, which have largely been unsuccessful to date, with the exception of businessman Oren Dubronsky being placed on the list.
