Netanyahu Offers Top Spot on Likud List to Retired General
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered a senior retired brigadier general, Tzipi Tamir, a place within the top ten on the Likud party's Knesset list. The offer was reportedly made by Netanyahu himself, according to Channel 12's Amit Segal. However, Tamir declined the proposal.
With the deadline for parties to finalize their Knesset candidate lists approaching on Tuesday, Netanyahu has a limited number of reserved spots, approximately six or seven, to fill. The prime minister has not yet decided who to place in these positions.
In related news, MK Tal Gottlieb officially left the Likud party last week to join the Otzma Yehudit party. Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir announced that Gottlieb would be placed in the second position on his party's list.
