Maccabi Haifa's Next Star Found in Ukrainian League

Maccabi Haifa fans have fallen in love with their Brazilian star, Bruninho, who has been instrumental in the team's early season success. In a recent 2-1 victory over Hapoel Petah Tikva, Bruninho scored and assisted, bringing his season total to three goals and one assist, along with drawing a penalty. His former club, Karpaty Lviv, is also enjoying a strong season, having suffered their first loss of the year only recently against Shakhtar Donetsk after three consecutive wins.

Leading Lviv's charge is Brazilian midfielder Felipe Vieira, who was signed to replace Bruninho and plays in the same position. Vieira has already notched three goals and two assists since his transfer from Latvian club Liepaja, his second European stop after STK Samorin. Local Ukrainian media outlet Tvoe Misto noted that Lviv's "foreign coach" has stabilized the team, with Vieira being central to their attack and performing well.

Ukrainian publication Tribuna questioned who expected the club that sold Bruninho to have such a successful summer. They highlighted Lviv's "brilliant investment" in building a deep and strong squad, calling it an "amazing summer." The club's financial strategy has been particularly effective, acquiring players for just €2.99 million and selling them for €11.38 million. Bruninho himself was sold to Maccabi Haifa for €1.7 million.
