Israel’s Health Ministry said it found the prescription substances clonazepam and lorazepam in jars of Frinook baby fruit puree sold at two Zol VeBigadol branches in Jerusalem, on Jaffa Street 113 and Jaffa Street 214. The ministry ordered immediate closure of both branches and involved the Israel Police.
According to the ministry, the children who were hospitalized after consuming the product have since been discharged from the hospital. It stressed that there is no broad recall for Frinook products, because no defect was found in the production process or at the factory.
Parents whose children ate the product are being asked to watch for behavioral changes such as drowsiness or fatigue and to contact the ministry hotline at 5400*. The public was told not to consume products bought at the two affected branches.
