Jerusalem Robbery Suspect Mistakenly Shot by Citizen

A rare incident occurred Sunday evening on Kanfei Nesharim Street in the Givat Shaul neighborhood of Jerusalem, where a suspect in a robbery, who was brandishing a knife, was shot and seriously wounded by a civilian who mistakenly identified him as a terrorist.

Large police forces were dispatched to the scene and began investigating the circumstances of the event. Simultaneously, medical teams from Magen David Adom and United Hatzalah provided initial medical treatment to the wounded individual, including stopping bleeding and bandaging. The victim was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center suffering from a penetrating injury, with his condition described as serious by both Magen David Adom and United Hatzalah.

United Hatzalah paramedics Ari Gartenhaus, Yossi Tauber, and David Yamini, who were first on the scene, reported, "This is a 19-year-old youth. We provided him with medical treatment including stopping bleeding, bandaging, and stabilization, after which he was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Hospital with his condition currently defined as serious."
