Izankot and Tropper Unite Parties for Upcoming Elections

Two Israeli political parties, "Yashar!" led by Gadi Eisenkot, and "Beit Tzioni" led by MK Chili Tropper, announced on Tuesday they will run on a joint slate in the upcoming elections. Under the agreement, Tropper and members of "Beit Tzioni" will join the "Yashar!" Knesset list. Notable figures joining alongside Tropper include Shira Shapira, an architect and urban planner who held senior public service positions and is the mother of fallen soldier Aner Shapira; Elissaf Peretz, an educator and reserve combat soldier, brother of fallen officers Uriel and Eliraz Peretz, and founder of the "Our Brothers" organization; and Shlomi Yehiab, former chairman of the National Union of Students and a reserve major.

The parties stated their union aims to establish a Zionist and state-oriented government, strengthen social cohesion in Israel, bridge divides within the nation, support service members, and restore trust and partnership. Eisenkot welcomed Tropper and "Beit Tzioni" members, calling Tropper a "value-driven and state-oriented leader" and a partner in belief in responsibility, national unity, and deep commitment to Israel. He added that the new additions strengthen the list and what he termed the "serving and state-oriented Zionist alternative to the October 7th government." Eisenkot pledged his party would continue to expand its ranks to win the elections, replace the current government, and form a "broad, responsible, and unifying government."

Tropper described the current times as "decisive," necessitating responsible decisions for Israel's benefit, and confirmed "Beit Tzioni" would join Eisenkot's path. He emphasized that leadership is demonstrated through personal example, responsibility, integrity, and humanity, qualities he attributes to Eisenkot. Tropper noted he had observed Eisenkot closely in recent years, including during times of loss and war, and stressed the need for renewed connection and joint work within Israeli society.
