Israeli Minister Caught on Video Cursing, Making Obscene Gesture at Colleague's Husband

A rare video surfaced from within the Likud party showing Minister Haim Katz engaging in a heated confrontation with attorney Hovav Damari, the husband of fellow minister Gila Gamliel. The incident occurred during a break in proceedings at the Likud party's tribunal.

In the footage, Katz is seen making an obscene gesture towards Damari and then heard cursing him. Gamliel, present at the scene, intervened by pulling her husband away from Katz to de-escalate the situation.

The confrontation is reportedly linked to an ongoing internal struggle within the Likud party concerning Gamliel's placement on the party's electoral list. A recount of votes in Bnei Brak revealed that Eti Atia, who is reportedly close to Katz, surpassed Gamliel. This recount caused Gamliel to drop from the 25th position to the 35th, a spot considered unlikely to secure a Knesset seat.

Following the recount, Gamliel's camp raised serious allegations regarding the vote counting process. Damari filed a police complaint for alleged fraud and forgery against Likud Director-General David Sharan, Minister Katz, and a security officer. Katz had previously responded to accusations of his involvement by posting the address of the Lahav 433 investigative unit.

The controversy surrounding the election results had already caused significant unrest within the Likud, with party members and branch leaders protesting the altered results and accusing Katz of influencing them in favor of Atia. The latest documented clash between Katz and Gamliel's husband marks a direct escalation of this internal dispute.
