Likud Director-General's Heated Remarks Against Minister Gamliel Revealed

Recordings have surfaced revealing a sharp confrontation between Likud party director-general David Sharan and Minister Gila Gamliel, stemming from disputes over the primary election results and a subsequent appeal filed by Gamliel to the party's tribunal. The recordings, broadcast by Channel 13 News, capture Sharan vehemently criticizing Gamliel for alleging widespread fraud.

"On all channels, calling everyone thieves at night," Sharan is heard saying, "No matter all these apologies, you are diminishing the Likud. I never agreed to petition against the Likud once. The Likud is more important than any one of you, and also than me. To come and claim about lies and theft when you know it's not true. What are these faces? You are the queen in Israel, grow up already. What is this? Accept some criticism. In Be'er Yaakov, do what you want, recount, that's your business. Accepting the first results is accepting a stolen ballot."

The dispute arises from Gamliel's claims of irregularities during the primaries. The Likud tribunal recently ordered a recount of some votes for Gamliel and MK Etti Attia, excluding the contested ballot box from Be'er Yaakov. Allegations of procedural misconduct were raised during the tribunal's hearing.

MK Chanoch Milwidsky detailed some of these alleged irregularities, including the opening and resealing of ballot boxes without clear reason, the validation of invalid votes for another candidate, discrepancies between vote counts and the number of voters, and admissions of failure by the security company responsible for overseeing the election's integrity. These revelations place the internal Likud conflict over the primary election conduct at the forefront.
