Israeli Ninja Warrior Star Gal Shrer Wins World Championship, Sets New Record

Gal Shrer, a prominent contestant from the Israeli reality show "Ninja Israel," has achieved the world champion title in obstacle course racing (OCR), securing two gold medals in the 100m and 400m events and setting a new world record. The competition took place in China.

Shrer, who first gained recognition on "Ninja Israel" at age 17, expressed his excitement about the victory, noting the high level of the international competition. He highlighted that OCR is an Olympic sport, set to debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Games, although the Olympic format will be a 70m course, differing from his winning events.

In a particularly notable moment during the 100m race, Shrer competed against his twin brother, Shir. Describing the close contest, Gal stated that Shir, who also performed well, embraced him afterward, emphasizing their mutual support. He humorously added that Shir might perform even better in the upcoming season of "Ninja Israel."

Reflecting on the world record, Shrer recounted being behind the American competitor for most of the final race, only managing to close the gap in the final moments. He described the win as "one in a million" and asserted that Israel is a "ninja powerhouse" alongside the United States, deserving of international respect.

Looking ahead, Shrer aims to compete in and win further world and European championships, with undisclosed projects also in the pipeline. His overarching goal is to excel in his passion and represent Israel with honor.
