New "Yesh Atid" Candidate Has Surprising Past as Teen TV Star
Yesh Atid party chairman Yair Lapid unveiled his Knesset candidate list over the weekend, featuring a familiar face from a popular 1990s youth series. Neta Attias, 37, from Ashkelon, who has managed the Yesh Atid faction for the past decade, was placed in the tenth spot on the party's list. This position is considered potentially unstable due to the party's union with Naftali Bennett's faction, which may push her further down the list.
Attias is no stranger to the spotlight, having starred in the iconic children's show "The Kids from Napoleon Hill" over 20 years ago. She played the character of Shelly in the second and third seasons of the show, which aired on the Children's Channel. Shelly was the cousin of Yuval, who was the love interest of both Ido and Tomer in the series. Attias eventually left acting and entered politics, with this marking her first Knesset candidacy.
While she has been active in party politics for the last ten years, her previous role as a child actress is a notable part of her background.
