Israeli Police Intensify Raids in Nazareth Amid Rising Violence

Israeli police and Border Guard forces conducted extensive security operations in Nazareth over the weekend, targeting criminal gangs amid a surge in shootings and violence. Police stated that dozens of officers participated in the raids, which led to the arrest of several suspects and the seizure of weapons and combat equipment, while also disrupting activities suspected of being linked to organized crime.

Three weapons were confiscated, including a Kalashnikov rifle and two pistols. One suspect was arrested for allegedly possessing the weapons. In a separate incident, officers apprehended a suspect heading towards a residential area known to house members of a criminal gang. A large quantity of fireworks was found in his possession, according to police.

The security campaign is an extension of recent operations that, according to police, have resulted in the arrest of dozens of suspects, the seizure of weapons, and the disruption of several violent incidents planned by criminal elements.

Police emphasized that their activity in Nazareth has been ongoing for a year, noting the imprisonment of leaders of the local crime organization known as "Bakri." They vowed to confront the conflict between local criminal gangs with "strength, determination, and without leniency," pledging to continue operations to enhance resident security and bring lawbreakers to justice.
