Police Seize Kalashnikov, Pistols in Nazareth; Two Arrested
Israeli police and Border Guard forces conducted an operation in Nazareth over the weekend, arresting two suspects and confiscating weapons and fireworks. The operation, which involved dozens of officers, focused on targets linked to criminal gangs in the city, amid a rise in shooting incidents and violence.
During the activity, authorities seized a Kalashnikov rifle and two pistols, arresting one suspect in possession of the firearms. In a separate incident, officers apprehended another suspect carrying a large quantity of fireworks batteries as he was heading towards a residential area associated with one of the gangs.
The police statement noted that the intensified activity is a response to the escalating violence in Nazareth.
