Maccabi Haifa Defender Betai Injured, Taken Off Field on Stretcher
Maccabi Haifa defender Yila Betai sustained a head injury during a match against Hapoel Petah Tikva on Saturday and was taken off the field on a stretcher in the 20th minute. The incident occurred when Betai was struck forcefully in the head by a ball during a corner kick. He will undergo further medical examinations.
Iyad Halaili replaced Betai in the right-back position. Initially, Betai continued playing for a few minutes after the impact but later collapsed on the field, necessitating his substitution. Halaili had previously replaced Betai in a tactical substitution during Maccabi Haifa's loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv. Coach Roni Levy had opted to keep Betai in the starting lineup for the match against Hapoel Petah Tikva after deliberation.
