Mohammad Barakeh Visits Jaafar Farah in Hospital, Says Statement Forthcoming

Mohammad Barakeh, a leader in the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (DFPE), announced on Saturday that he had visited candidate Jaafar Farah in the hospital and spoken with him directly. This comes amid tensions surrounding the elections for the DFPE's second seat in Shfaram. Barakeh informed supporters gathered outside the election hall that Farah would issue a statement clarifying his position on recent developments once he is released from the hospital.

Barakeh stated that Farah's forthcoming statement would address the ongoing controversy and the events following the announcement of his withdrawal from the candidacy. He emphasized that the DFPE's statement on Friday, announcing Farah's withdrawal, was made with his "consent and approval," asserting that Farah was aware of and agreed with its contents.

Despite the DFPE's announcement, Farah himself has not yet made any personal statement regarding the recent events or his withdrawal. The withdrawal was communicated through a party statement claiming Farah had informed them of his decision, without any personal declaration from him explaining the circumstances or his stance.

Lawyer Nibal Aradat, close to Farah, stated that Farah "has not declared his resignation or withdrawal," and called for "keeping the list as chosen by the public." She argued that the public, which elected Farah, should also be the one to remove him, requesting that Farah be given until Sunday to issue a personal statement. Aradat also noted that more DFPE members were outside the party meeting than inside, indicating significant opposition to the recent developments.
