Hadash Party's Number Two Candidate Withdraws Amidst Allegations

Jaafar Farah announced on Thursday his withdrawal from the second position on the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (Hadash) party's Knesset list. In a statement to party supporters, Farah cited a "sense of responsibility" and support for the Joint List as reasons for his decision, which was coordinated with party leadership and prominent figures.

The move is intended to "thwart attempts to undermine the Joint List by exploiting accusations against member Abu Basel," whom Farah vehemently denies. Despite his withdrawal, Farah affirmed his commitment to continued political and social activism for Hadash and the Joint List.

The statement also briefly mentioned Farah's temporary health crisis, wishing him a swift recovery without providing further details. Following his departure, Hadash's national secretariat and central committee will convene on Saturday to select a new candidate for the second spot on the list, open to all national council members.
