Maccabi Netanya is preparing a squad change, with Georgian defender Saba Khvadagiani expected to return to action next month after being sidelined since September. The 23-year-old center back suffered a torn ACL, and Netanya paid half a million euros for him about two and a half years ago.
Khvadagiani is likely to go out on loan for the coming season so he can prove he has fully recovered from the injury. At the club, however, he is still viewed as a player who can contribute in the future.
His replacement, Malian defender Bakary Kone, is attracting interest. Kone joined in February from Kryvbas for half a million euros, and Netanya has received several offers for him.
For now, the club does not intend to sell Kone, and he is expected to remain Netanya's leading center back this season.
