Goalkeeper Roy Burns Joins Maccabi Jaffa from Hapoel Tel Aviv
Goalkeeper Roy Burns has officially transferred from Hapoel Tel Aviv to Maccabi Jaffa for one season, with an option for the 2027/28 season. The 24-year-old Burns, who was on loan to Jaffa last season, returns to the National League club on a permanent contract to help them in the upcoming season.
Burns was part of Hapoel Tel Aviv's squad for their recent 3-0 victory over Beitar Jerusalem on Friday, but finalized his move the following day. Prior to his loan spell at Jaffa, he was also loaned to Hapoel Kfar Shalem.
During the decisive moments of the 2023/24 season, Hapoel Tel Aviv's primary goalkeeper, Emilios Zobas, was injured and left the country. Burns then stepped in as the team's main goalkeeper. Despite his efforts, Burns was unable to prevent the club's relegation to the National League.
