Roy Burns Leaves Hapoel Tel Aviv for Maccabi Jaffa
Goalkeeper Roy Burns, 24, has officially transferred from Hapoel Tel Aviv to Maccabi Jaffa on a one-year contract with an option for the 2027/28 season. Burns, who was on loan to Maccabi Jaffa last season, returns to the National League team with a permanent contract to help them this upcoming season.
Just yesterday, Burns was part of the Hapoel Tel Aviv squad for their 3-0 victory over Beitar Jerusalem. Prior to his loan spells, Burns had also been loaned to Hapoel Kfar Shalem. He previously played for Hapoel Tel Aviv before these loans.
During a critical juncture in the 2023/24 season, Hapoel Tel Aviv's primary goalkeeper, Emilijus Zubas, was injured and left the country. Burns stepped in between the posts for the club. Despite his efforts, the team was relegated to the National League.
