Maccabi Haifa Sets New Policy for Club Sale Negotiations
Maccabi Haifa is preparing for a potential sale of the club, with owner Yaakov Shahar reportedly open to offers. While no active negotiations are currently underway, the club is establishing a new protocol for future discussions. Unlike in the past, Shahar or his representatives will not directly manage any sale negotiations.
Instead, a specialized external firm will be appointed to handle complex, high-value transactions. This company will be responsible for conducting due diligence on potential buyers and managing all communications and negotiations. The club is valued at over 100 million euros.
Shahar acquired Maccabi Haifa in 1992, and the club has been under his ownership for 34 years. The move to appoint an external firm suggests a serious consideration of a future sale, should suitable investors emerge.
