Maccabi Haifa Sets New Policy for Club Sale Negotiations
Maccabi Haifa Football Club has established a new policy regarding potential negotiations for the sale of the club. Moving forward, any interested investor will not negotiate directly with current owner Yaakov Shahar, but rather with an external company specializing in complex, high-value transactions. While no sale negotiations are currently underway, the club is preparing for future possibilities.
The option of selling Maccabi Haifa has been on the table for some time, even after a potential deal with an American investment group fell through. The club anticipates that similar offers from other investors may arise in the future.
If interest in purchasing the club resurfaces, the external company will manage all discussions. This firm will conduct due diligence on potential buyers and handle all negotiations. The club is reportedly valued at over 100 million euros.
Yaakov Shahar purchased Maccabi Haifa in 1992, and has owned the club for 34 years. The club's future ownership remains a subject of interest.
