Jewish-American Business Group Seeks to Acquire Maccabi Haifa Basketball Club

A group of Jewish-American businessmen has submitted a proposal to acquire the management rights of Maccabi Haifa's basketball club, which currently competes in the Israeli National League. The initiative is led by Asaf Rosenblat, former CEO of Maccabi Haifa's senior team during Jeff Rosen's ownership. Rosenblat recently traveled to the United States to assemble a consortium of five investors to finalize the offer, which was presented to the club's leadership on Wednesday.

The proposal includes taking over management of all basketball teams under the club, including the youth division, but excludes the women's team, which will remain under Ilan Beck's management. The consortium commits to operating the basketball department for a minimum of ten years without investment limits and will pay the club $15,000 annually for management rights.

Professionally, the buyers pledge to swiftly return the senior team to the Israeli Premier League and to invest significantly in the youth department to build a strong foundation for the future senior team. Financially, the investment will be equally shared among the four businessmen involved. This move aims to restore Maccabi Haifa's basketball prominence after years outside the top division.
