Israeli Pharma Giant Teva's Ukrainian Warehouse Hit Twice in Russian Drone Attack

The Ukrainian branch of the Israeli pharmaceutical company Teva reported that its warehouse was struck twice by Russian drones on September 3rd. The company confirmed that all employees are safe and accounted for, with no injuries reported. Teva is currently assessing the extent of the damage and its potential impact on medication supplies.

"Teva's warehouse in Ukraine was hit twice as a result of a Russian attack," stated the Ukrainian division. "Most importantly, all our colleagues are safe, and no one was injured." Despite the attacks, Teva is continuing its operations and implementing measures to prevent disruptions to the supply of essential medications to Ukrainian patients. The company emphasized the critical need for its drugs for millions of people who rely on regular treatment.

The Ukrainian branch has not yet provided details on potential inventory losses, the scale of the warehouse destruction, or the timeline for restoring full logistics. "We are doing everything possible to minimize the impact of the situation on the company's operations and drug supplies in Ukraine," said Dmitry Spitsyn, CEO of Teva Ukraine. Teva Ukraine is part of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., a leading global pharmaceutical concern headquartered in Israel. The Ukrainian subsidiary is among the country's top three pharmaceutical companies, employing over 350 people and offering a portfolio of more than 260 medications across most therapeutic areas.

The Teva warehouse was not the only pharmaceutical facility targeted. On the same day, the Biocon logistics complex in the Kyiv region, one of Ukraine's largest specialized pharmaceutical warehouses, was damaged. Market participants anticipate this could lead to temporary shortages of certain medications in pharmacies. The Russian strikes have affected crucial drug supply infrastructure for Ukraine, raising concerns about Teva's ability to maintain uninterrupted patient supply despite the damage to its logistics.
