Russia Strikes Israeli Firm Teva's Warehouses in Ukraine Twice

Russian forces struck the warehouses of the Ukrainian branch of the Israeli pharmaceutical giant Teva Pharmaceuticals twice, the company confirmed on Friday, September 4. While no injuries were reported, the extent of the damage has not been disclosed. Teva stated it is assessing the consequences and working to minimize any impact on its supply chain, emphasizing its commitment to preventing drug shortages in Ukraine. The company also highlighted its focus on supporting its employees affected by the attack, ensuring their safety and providing necessary assistance.

According to Ukrainian media reports, the strikes occurred on September 3. Another pharmaceutical company, Biocon, also sustained damage, with significant drug supplies reportedly destroyed at its warehouses. Experts estimate the losses from the Russian strikes could amount to billions of Ukrainian hryvnias.

Teva Ukraine, headquartered in Kyiv, is described as one of the largest international pharmaceutical companies in the country, ranking among the top three on the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market. The company employs over 350 people and produces more than 250 generic and original medications.
