Father of Nova Festival Victim Attacked in Acre Market

Natan Kuperwasser, whose daughter Shani was murdered at the Nova music festival on October 7th, was assaulted in the market in Acre on Saturday while walking his dog with friends. Two local residents, in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of the attack and their detention was extended for four days. Kuperwasser recounted to Ynet that the incident began when his small dog was attacked by another, unidentified dog. As he intervened to separate the animals, he was punched by one man, and then another joined in the assault. He expressed dismay that bystanders did not intervene to help him. As Kuperwasser and his friends attempted to leave, a third individual approached, punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. He described the experience as "terrible" and "shocking," especially given his personal loss. The police confirmed the arrests of the two suspects, residents of Old Acre, stating they "brutally attacked a bereaved father following an argument over their dogs," and that the suspects claimed their dog was the one initially attacked. The police apprehended the suspects during a raid on their homes.
