Family of Fallen Sound Technician Demands Justice for Theft After Nova Massacre
Nearly three years after the October 7 Nova festival massacre, the parents of the late Matan Mordechai Lior appeared at Beersheba Magistrate's Court demanding full punishment for three convicted individuals who stole his sound equipment. Ram Shaheen, Daniel Hasson, and San Lucian Tebel were found guilty of deceitfully entering the festival site, claiming to act on behalf of an absent friend, and taking Lior's sound system and generator. During the sentencing hearing on October 7, Matan's mother, Sarah Lior, delivered a powerful statement condemning the defendants. She emphasized that her son did not flee the attack but stayed to lead and save many lives, later receiving a civilian bravery award from the President of Israel posthumously. She accused the thieves of exploiting the tragedy by looting the business her son had painstakingly built, calling them "forces of darkness" who shamelessly deceived and stole instead of helping. Sarah also alleged that the defendants visited the family during the shiva mourning period in an attempt to cover up their actions. The court is set to issue the final sentences on October 7.
