Grieving Father Attacked After Dog Dispute in Old Acre
Police in Israel arrested two suspects early Thursday morning in connection with a brutal assault on Natan Kupferwasser, a bereaved father who lost his daughter in the Nova music festival massacre on October 7th. The attack reportedly occurred in Old Acre following an argument between the suspects and Kupferwasser concerning their dogs.
Investigators from the Acre police station began looking into the incident last Saturday after Kupferwasser, a resident of Haifa, was violently attacked while walking his dog in Old Acre. The confrontation escalated when his dog got into an altercation with another dog. The other dog's owners then allegedly attacked Kupferwasser, causing him injuries.
Following the report, police quickly identified two suspects, both residents of Old Acre in their 20s. A joint operation involving detectives, special patrol units, and uniformed officers led to their arrest at their homes. They were taken to the Acre station for questioning and subsequently detained.
A court approved the police's request to extend their detention until September 7th, 2026, as the investigation continues.
