Grieving Father Attacked in Acre After Dog Dispute, Two Arrested
Two men in their 20s from Old Acre were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of brutally assaulting a bereaved father from Haifa. The victim, who lost his home in the October 7th Hamas attack, was walking his dog in Old Acre when it encountered another dog, leading to a fight between the animals. Investigators believe the owner of the second dog claimed his pet was attacked and, in response, violently assaulted the victim, causing him injuries.
Police identified and apprehended two suspects in their homes in Old Acre. Following their arrest, the two were taken for questioning at the police station and subsequently detained. A court approved the police's request to extend their detention by four days.
The police stated, "Israel Police exhibit zero tolerance for displays of violence and thuggery in public spaces and will act decisively to prosecute lawbreakers."
