Israeli and Three Palestinians Arrested for Organizing Dogfights in West Bank

Four suspects, including a 20-year-old Israeli man and three Palestinians aged 27 to 29, were arrested on August 6 in the West Bank on suspicion of organizing dogfights and severe animal abuse. The arrests followed a covert police investigation triggered by social media monitoring and reports of animal cruelty. The suspects were identified as residents of Jaljulia (Israeli) and the Palestinian towns of Jaba, Burukin, and Sebastia.

A joint operation involving the Israeli police, Border Police, IDF, and the Ministry of Agriculture's veterinary service raided three locations simultaneously in the West Bank. During the raids, seven injured dogs were found, examined by veterinarians, and transferred to quarantine for medical treatment. Authorities also confiscated medications and equipment allegedly used to facilitate the dogfights.

The suspects were taken in for questioning on charges of organizing dogfights, animal cruelty, and violations of the Animal Welfare Law. They are expected to appear in court for a detention extension hearing as the investigation continues. The police released footage documenting the rescue and arrests as part of their ongoing efforts to combat animal abuse in the region.
