Israeli Forces Arrest Four Suspects for Organizing Cruel Dogfighting in West Bank

Early Thursday morning, a joint operation by the Judea and Samaria District Police, Border Police fighters, the IDF, and the Veterinary Service led to the arrest of four Arab suspects accused of organizing brutal dogfighting and severe animal abuse. The suspects include a 20-year-old Israeli Arab from Jaljulia, who mostly resides in the West Bank, and three Palestinians aged 27 to 29 from Jaba, Burukin, and Sebastia. The investigation began after police received information and monitored social media posts suggesting dogfighting activities and animal cruelty.

During the raid on three locations in the West Bank, authorities rescued seven injured and wounded dogs and confiscated equipment allegedly used for dogfighting, along with medications and other related items. The dogs were examined on-site by the Veterinary Service and then transferred to quarantine for medical treatment. The suspects were taken in for questioning on charges of managing and organizing dogfights, animal cruelty, and violations of animal welfare laws. They are expected to appear in court soon for a detention extension hearing.

Police emphasized their commitment to continuing resolute action against those involved in animal abuse. The undercover investigation by the Crime Fighting Unit in the Samaria area gathered substantial evidence and documentation that exposed the identities of the perpetrators and led to the successful operation.
