Israel Releases Five Lebanese Nationals After Determining They Posed No Terror Threat
The Prime Minister's Office announced the release of five Lebanese civilians who had been detained by the IDF in southern Lebanon. According to the Prime Minister's Office, it was determined that the individuals were not members of a terror organization, had not engaged in terrorism, and there was no reason for their continued detention in Israel.
The release follows efforts by both Lebanon and Israel to locate the bodies of community leaders in Lebanon who were kidnapped and murdered by terror groups in the mid-1980s. The Prime Minister's Office stated that the release was a result of these actions.
