Israel to Release Five Lebanese Prisoners to Lebanon
Israel is set to release five Lebanese prisoners back to Lebanon today as a political gesture within the framework of negotiations with the Lebanese government. Arab media outlets have published the name of one of the prisoners, Kamal Ghazi. According to Saudi reports, Ghazi will soon be transferred back to Lebanon via the Naqoura crossing as a "goodwill gesture."
Lebanese media reported Ghazi's disappearance in October 2025 in the Einata area, north of Mount Hermon. At the time, reports indicated he had gone out for training in an area near the town and had not been heard from since. Ghazi was reportedly around 20 years old when he disappeared.
The release is part of ongoing diplomatic efforts between Israel and Lebanon, facilitated through intermediaries, aimed at resolving issues concerning individuals held by both sides.
