Israel Threatens to Destroy Iran's Infrastructure if Attacked

Israeli Security Minister Yisrael Katz declared on Thursday that any Iranian attack on Israel would remove existing restraints, threatening to strike all civilian and military infrastructure within Iran. He vowed to target Iran's energy infrastructure, stating, "We will return Iran to the Stone Age and darkness." Katz asserted that the Iranian regime understands why it has not attacked Israel, citing two prior "strong blows" that destroyed its nuclear program, led to the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and severely damaged its strategic capabilities. He indicated that "indications suggest that severe economic pressures and fear of the regime's collapse may push them to take desperate steps." Speaking to Ministry of Security staff, Katz added that Israel is "well prepared in defense and offense for any eventuality, and the army is ready to carry out the mission."
