Israel Threatens Iranian National and Energy Infrastructure if Attacked

A senior Israeli official stated that if necessary, Israel would target Iran's national and energy infrastructure in retaliation for any aggression. This warning comes as Israel closely monitors the recent exchanges between the United States and Iran, preparing for the possibility that increased pressure on Tehran could lead to actions against Israel.

Israeli defense officials are considering the scenario where Iran, feeling cornered by U.S. actions and economic sanctions, might initiate actions against Israel. In such a case, Israel's response could involve striking critical Iranian national and energy infrastructure.

Meanwhile, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Buttigieg has extended the operational deployment of American forces in the Middle East, indicating a prolonged U.S. presence in the region, possibly into next year. This suggests the ongoing conflict might resume or that the U.S. aims to maintain leverage over Iran. The deployed forces include naval assets, fighter squadrons, paratrooper units, and air defense units.

Kuwait reported that its air defense systems were active in intercepting missiles and drones launched from Iran. Additionally, U.S. Central Command released footage of its forces enforcing a maritime blockade on Iran, stating they had diverted 86 commercial vessels, disabled three, and boarded two others to ensure they were not heading towards Iran.
