Israel Threatens Widespread Strikes on Iran, Including Civilian Infrastructure

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on Thursday threatened widespread attacks against Iran should Israel face any new Iranian assault. Katz vowed to target both military and civilian infrastructure, including energy facilities, stating that any Iranian attack would lead to the lifting of restrictions on Israel. He asserted that Israel would respond by striking various infrastructure sites within Iran.

Katz further threatened that Israel would work to return Iran to the "depths of the Stone Age and darkness," reflecting a heightened Israeli rhetoric towards Tehran. The minister claimed that the Iranian leadership understands the reasons for its reluctance to attack Israel, citing previous Israeli strikes that significantly damaged Iran's capabilities, including its nuclear program and strategic assets.

The Defense Minister also indicated, based on his assessment, that economic pressures and fears of the Iranian regime's collapse might push Tehran towards "desperate steps." He concluded by affirming that Israel is prepared defensively and offensively for various scenarios, and that the Israeli military is on high alert to execute any assigned mission.
