Dancer, 74, Revived After Cardiac Arrest During Rehearsal

Boaz Lifshitz, a 74-year-old man, collapsed and suffered cardiac arrest during a dance troupe rehearsal in front of his fellow dancers. Lifshitz, who described dancing as an integral part of his life, suddenly fell unconscious during the rehearsal. The dramatic event was captured on security footage from the dance studio, showing the routine practice turn into a life-or-death struggle within seconds.

Bystanders immediately called emergency services. MDA (Magen David Adom) dispatcher Tomer Garvatzky calmly guided those present through CPR and the use of a defibrillator over the phone. Lifshitz has no memory of the event due to his loss of consciousness, but a fellow dancer, Dr. Danny, recognized the severity of the situation and initiated first aid.

Garvatzky's focused instructions and the prompt use of the defibrillator, along with Dr. Danny's quick actions, were credited with saving Lifshitz's life within minutes. Garvatzky emphasized the critical role of the MDA call center, staffed by paramedics and EMTs, in providing life-saving medical guidance over the phone during emergencies.
