Shefa-Amr Bets on IMEC Corridor for New Economic Gateway

Shefa-Amr, a city located near Haifa Port, is positioning itself to benefit from the economic opportunities presented by the India-Middle East-Europe (IMEC) corridor. The city is part of a coalition of 53 towns and cities in the Haifa and Beit She'an Valley region, dubbed "The Next Gulf," which aims to capitalize on the project.

Shefa-Amr, a mixed city with Muslim, Christian, and Druze populations, boasts a long history of coexistence, reflected in its "Square of Religions." Its strategic location between the coast and the Galilee, coupled with its commercial activity and inter-community relations, makes it a candidate for economic integration into the IMEC initiative.

The IMEC project is viewed not just as a trade route for goods from India to Europe via the Gulf, but as a catalyst for broader economic, commercial, and investment opportunities. The 53 municipalities involved seek to ensure that the project's benefits extend beyond the port and railway infrastructure to the surrounding communities.
