Congolese President Visits Western Wall in Jerusalem

Félix Tshisekedi, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem on Wednesday evening as part of an official visit to Israel. He was accompanied by his Foreign Minister, Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner, and other government officials. Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch, the rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, welcomed Tshisekedi, explaining the site's history and significance to the Jewish people. The two men prayed together for peace and continued friendship between their nations. President Tshisekedi then placed a personal prayer note between the stones of the Wall. He also toured the "Gate of Heaven" exhibition and the archaeological excavations beneath the esplanade. Before departing, Tshisekedi wrote in the guestbook, "May God hear the prayer I place at His feet for the Democratic Republic of Congo and for its people, who demand justice and dignity. Amen." The visit followed meetings with Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, focusing on strengthening economic and security cooperation between Israel and the DRC.
