Israeli Broadcaster Kan Unveils New Schedule, Expands Netflix Deal
The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, Kan, revealed its new programming schedule for the upcoming year on Wednesday, featuring a mix of new series and returning popular shows. Among the highlights are a new season of the comedy "Checkout" (Kupa Rashit), which will include a special episode airing on election night, and the fourth season of the international Emmy-winning drama "Tehran."
Kan also announced a new season of "The One" (Ha'achat) and the premiere of "Double on the Money" (Dabl al Ha'kesef), the broadcaster's first reality show. Additionally, Kan will host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027.
A significant development is the expansion of Kan's partnership with Netflix. Several Kan series, including "Checkout," "Happy Place" (Makom Shamach), "All Mothers Lie" (Kol Ha'emot Meshekrot), "Karamel," and "Home Alone" (Levad Ba'bayit), will be available on Netflix. Kan stated that revenue from this deal will fund new Israeli content production.
The broadcaster also announced a second season for the popular series "The Simple Ones" (Ha'pשוטע), which has garnered over 6.5 million views across Kan's platforms since its debut. Kan's CEO, Golan Yochpaz, presented the "Kan Award" for 2026 to the 2026 World Cup broadcast project, praising its high-quality, free, and technologically advanced public broadcasting.
Kan also recognized its ten most outstanding content pieces from the past year, including the investigative program "Real Time" (Zman Emet), an exclusive interview with Eli Feldstein on "It Will Be Good" (Yihiye Tov), and the drama series "Happy Place" and "All Mothers Lie."
