Man Arrested for Inciting Violence Against Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana
Israeli police have arrested and are investigating a 27-year-old Tel Aviv resident on suspicion of inciting violence against Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana. The arrest followed social media posts made by the suspect in response to a post by Ohana.
Ohana, a Likud party member, had shared his experience of accompanying his children to school on their first day. He described finding stickers depicting him with red paint and the phrase "no atonement." Ohana condemned the act, calling the perpetrators "violent, despicable, and ugly-minded."
The suspect, in a reply to Ohana's post, stated that "all 64 should be put to death" and that they should "suffer every remaining day of their lives." He questioned Ohana's compassion for those who allegedly showed no mercy to hostages.
The 27-year-old was brought in for questioning at the Tel Aviv South police station and subsequently released under restrictive conditions. The investigation is ongoing.
